Ruby’s Vital Grooves took the first prize at the New York Festival for Television and Radio Programming for the show’s imaging.

89.7 Bay’s flagship dance music show presented by DJ Ruby has won a top international award.
Ruby’s Vital Grooves took the first prize at the New York Festival for Television and Radio Programming for the show’s imaging.
Jingle producer Rade Santrac collected the award after the panel of judges, including bosses from the BBC, ABC and CNN decided his work was the very best.
The audio imaging used on Ruby’s Vital Grooves, Malta’s number one dance music radio show, features the voice of Mark Driscoll, one of Hollywood’s blockbuster movie trailer voiceover artists.
DJ Ruby said: “This is the biggest award that anyone can get in this field!”

A short video that allegedly shows Michael Jackson stepping out of a Los Angeles coroner’s van after his death is doing the rounds on the internet.
The 29-second clip will doubtless reinforce the view held by conspiracy theorists that the King of Pop’s death was an elaborate stunt and that he is still alive and kicking.
The video, apparently filmed in an underground garage, shows a man being escorted from the back of a white van and through a doorway by a guard.
The man appears to have the same build and hair as Jackson but his face cannot be seen at any point.
The person who posted the footage on video-sharing website Live Leak claims to have been given it by a “trustworthy source”.
“This video shows that Michael was still alive after his dead body was transported to the Los Angeles Department of Coroner,” the video description states.
“I checked the license plate number and it looks like the King of Pop is jumping out of the same van, his dead body has been in.”
However, the van’s number plate is not clearly visible at any point during the video and there is no date stamp to indicate when it may have been filmed.

A woman wearing goggles, flippers and a shark fin swam five times around the Tritons fountain in Valletta this morning, to the cheers of her husband, father-in-law and bus drivers.
Katya Mifsud, 31, had won the Bay Radio Crazy Dare Challenge where listeners had to submit their proposal for a dare. The prize was €1,000 from Malta Gold.
The fountain was given a through clean-up and had its water replaced last Thursday but people could today still see many bottles, cups and other waste floating around and on the bottom.
Mrs Mifsud wore ear plugs and showered with water containing antiseptic as soon as she got out.

A man who is so keen on breaking records that he changed his name to Guinness is hoping to gain entry into the record book by tattooing the flag of every country in the world on his body.
Guiness Rishi, 67, of India, already holds four world records, for feats as diverse as building the world’s tallest sugar cube tower and adopting the world’s oldest adoptee (his 61-year-old brother-in-law). But he now plans to cover his body in 220 different flags, a process he estimates will take him three years and cost around £12,500.
Rishi already has six of the tattoos done, on his face - the flags of India, the United Kingdom, the USA, Canada, Cyprus, and the Indian Congress Party. He says that his face is being reserved for the most important flags - he thinks he can fit around 60 1-inch flags on his head..
